John Mulrooney, a Brooklyn-born stand-up comedian, late-night host, and former police officer, has died. He was 67.
Mulrooney died suddenly at his home in Coxsackie, New York, on Monday, Dec. 29, according to his obituary. No cause of death was cited.
Mulrooney became a mainstay on the New York comedy scene during the 1980s. He performed at major clubs like the Improv, the Comic Strip, and the Laugh Factory. Fans knew him for his boisterous energy and fearless style, according to USA Today.

Tatiana Schlossberg, the granddaughter of President John F. Kennedy and an acclaimed journalist, has died following a battle with cancer. She was 35 years old.
Schlossberg was the middle child of Caroline Kennedy and Edwin Schlossberg.
Her death on Tuesday morning, Dec. 30, was announced in an afternoon statement shared by the Kennedy Library Foundation on social media.
“Our beautiful Tatiana passed away this morning,” the family wrote. “She will always be in our hearts.”
