Serious Car Accident Reported On I-495 In Boxborough A serious car accident was reported on I-495 North in Boxborough just before 5 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 9, Boxborough Fire said on Twitter. Engine 64, A1, Engine 63 are on Route 495 North, North of Route 111 for a serious MVA. Medflight is enroute and the highway is closed.@BoxboroughPD — Boxborough Fire Department (@BoxboroughFire) September 9, 2022 The accident caused the entire highway to be closed, Boxborough fire said. The incident was reported on I-190 South just before Exit 1 by MassDOT after 8 a.m. A person driving by captured the scene showing traffic cones blocking off the ramp. Traffic was being detoured to Exit 2 as a result. The damage was cleared around 8:43 a.m., NBC Boston reports. No word on what caused the sign to crash.

Traffic Update: Gas Leak Closes Part of Route 146 In Millbury For At Least Another Hour Traffic has come to a halt after a gas main was struck this morning, July 27, by contractors working near Route 146, Exit 10 onto Route 20, and the Mass Pike. The Fire Department is on scene mitigating the leak. Northbound travel lanes on Route 146 are closed and traffic is being diverted to Exit 9.
