James M. Clark, 43, was killed by his wife, Christine S. Clark, at their home in Hartford on Wednesday, Sept. 23, according to New York State Police.

More than 12,000 water service lines need to be replaced due to lead contamination across Nassau County, according to a report released Tuesday, Sept. 29.
The 12,904 lead water pipes found in Nassau County were some of the more than 245,000 lead-contaminated service lines that have been identified across New York State, the Rockefeller Institute of Government said in its report.

Richard "Richie" O’Brien, of Port Jefferson Station, suffered a traumatic brain injury in the collision Wednesday, Sept. 23 and died Sunday, Sept. 27, according to a GoFundMe campaign launched for his family.

A Long Island driver who killed a woman while high on cocaine and Xanax pleaded guilty Monday, Sept. 28, authorities said.
Nina Varrino, 52, of Glen Cove, admitted to aggravated vehicular homicide for the crash that killed Lisa Pelaez on July 12, 2025, the Nassau County District Attorney’s office said.
