Hector Collazo, 60, died after being struck by a Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) train in Hicksville Tuesday morning, July 8, as Daily Voice reported.
Emergency crews responded to the scene, near New South Road and Mineola Avenue, around 9:40 a.m., where Collazo was struck by an eastbound train and pronounced dead at the scene, according to an MTA spokesperson. He was illegally on the tracks at the time.

Lisa Moyer, a member of the board of education in Allamuchy Township, violated several sections of the school ethics board, after her child was suspended for harassment, intimidation and bullying in 2022, the School Ethics Commission ruled. The board recommended Moyer be reprimanded for her actions in a ruling released in April.
