Boarding Owners Let 21 Dogs Die In Washington County, Police Say
Two owners of a dog boarding facility in upstate New York are facing criminal charges after 21 dogs were found dead.
Washington County deputies were called Sunday, Aug. 24, to Anastasia’s Acres Dog Boarding on Allen Road in Argyle for a report of deceased animals, the agency said.
Investigators determined that the facility’s owners, Robert Palulis, 48, and Anastasia Palulis, 38, failed to provide adequate water and ventilation, resulting in the deaths of 21 dogs, according to police. Another dog required medical treatment.

A man from the region is accused of trying to steal thousands of dollars from his former employer.
Washington County resident William Jordan, age 57, of Salem, was arrested on multiple charges Saturday, May 6, according to New York State Police.

A New York man accused of opening fire on a group of people who accidentally turned down his driveway, killing a 20-year-old woman, is not cooperating with police, authorities said.
The shooting happened Saturday night, April 15, in Washington County, in the town of Hebron, located southeast of Glens Falls.

Capital District Woman Starved, Neglected 31 Horses, Police Say
A woman from the Capital District is accused of neglecting dozens of horses to the point of starvation, authorities said.
Washington County resident Wendy Murphy, age 54, of Granville, was arrested Friday, Sept. 2, on 31 counts of animal cruelty.
It followed an investigation by state police, Washington County Animal Control, and the SPCA of Upstate New York into allegations that horses on her property were being neglected, police said.
Investigators executed a search warrant on her home, where they found 31 horses, all appearing to be deprived of necessary sustenance, according to police. …
