4-Year-Old Paterson Girl’s Dad, GF Indicted In Brutal Death: Prosecutor A Paterson couple has been indicted after a 4-year-old girl died from blunt force trauma in May, Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes said. An autopsy determined the child’s death was a homicide, Valdes said. The girl was found unresponsive around 8:45 p.m. on May 6 near Pearl Street and Carroll Street in Paterson and was pronounced dead at 9:33 p.m. at Saint Joseph’s University Medical Center. NJ Town Sues Major Mall In Nearby Town Claiming 'Thousands' Of Sunday Sales Violations The Borough of Paramus has filed a lawsuit to shut down Sunday retail sales at the American Dream Mall, claiming the East Rutherford complex has repeatedly violated Bergen County’s Blue Laws. In the complaint, filed Aug. 25 in Superior Court, Paramus accuses mall operator Ameream, LLC, the New Jersey Sports and Exposition Authority, the Borough of East Rutherford, and Bergen County of allowing more than 120 stores inside the mall to sell prohibited goods on Sundays, despite the county’s 1980 referendum banning such sales. Bryan Moreira Alves De Sousa, lovingly known as “Super Bryan,” died on Aug. 20, according to his obituary and a GoFundMe created in his memory. Newark Woman Struck Dead By Vehicle While Walking Dog: Prosecutor A 40-year-old Newark woman was fatally struck by a vehicle that witnesses say was speeding and driving in the wrong direction while she was walking her dog on Friday, Aug. 22, authorities said. Man Threatens To Shoot Up Bloomingdale Bar, Police Say A Pompton Lakes man was arrested after police say he threatened to shoot multiple patrons inside a Bloomingdale bar.
